The Los Angeles Lakers announced that forward LeBron James is out indefinitely after suffering a high ankle sprain during Saturday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks. The 36-year-old James departed the Lakers’ 99-94 loss to the Hawks in the first half after forward Solomon Hill made contact with James’ lower right leg.Hill was called for a foul on the play, which occurred near the start of the second quarter.

James immediately shouted in pain and fell to the floor, clutching his right leg. James knocked over a chair in frustration as he walked to the locker room, and underwent X-rays and an MRI on his right ankle following the game, which revealed the high ankle sprain.

James wrote on Twitter: “Nothing angers and saddens me more than not being available to and for my teammates! I’m hurt inside and out right now. The road back from recovery begins now. Back soon like I never left.” James was averaging 25.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and eight assists this season entering Saturday’s game.
