Missouri drivers may soon have the option to register their vehicles for five years instead of the usual one or two years. The Missouri House of Representatives passed House Bill 2189, allowing owners of vehicles less than six years old to opt for the longer registration period. To take advantage of this option, owners would need to pay the $45 fee plus a pro rata fee for the additional four years and provide all required documentation during registration. The bill, which passed with a vote of 143 to 0, is now awaiting review by the Senate and, if approved, would go into effect in 2027.
