A St. Joseph man, Christopher K. Beck, was arrested in Andrew County after a pursuit that began in Buchanan County. Beck is facing charges of driving while intoxicated and fleeing a stop while exceeding the speed limit by 26 miles per hour or more. The trooper observed Beck driving an orange motorcycle at 40 miles per hour over the speed limit on North Belt Highway. Beck accelerated to speeds close to 100 miles per hour, entered Andrew County, and was eventually stopped on Business Route 71. Beck refused a PBT and chemical breath test, and was taken for a blood draw at Mosaic Life Care. Beck’s initial court appearance in Andrew County is scheduled for tomorrow at 1 p.m.
