Missouri Western State University is reporting its second straight year of spring enrollment growth.

According to the university’s spring census, total headcount rose 1.52% to 3,132 students. Officials say fall-to-spring retention improved 5% compared to last year, with degree-seeking student retention up 3%.

The university also reported strong gains among adult learners. Retention for students age 25 and older increased 7%, while traditional student retention rose 3%.

Freshman enrollment among degree-seeking students climbed by 126 students from last spring, including 51 students from Buchanan County.
