Families are encouraged to bring their young children out to the annual Youth Alliance Children’s Fair at Civic Arena later this month, designed to encourage fun combined with learning, particularly around literacy.

The event on Tuesday, April 21st will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. inside the Civid Arena with dozens of vendors who set up exhibits with a singular goal of promoting youth literacy.  The theme for this year’s Children’s Fair is “Let’s Go to Outer Space.”

Every aspect of the fair is designed to encourage families to combine fun with learning, particularly when reading and developing literacy skills.  The free family event is designed for children from birth to six years old. Each child who attends receives a free book and the opportunity to engage with a variety of activities and interactive stations.

“We look forward to the Children’s Fair every year,” said Robin Hammond, Executive Director of Youth Alliance in a news release. “It’s a great resource for families because they come and have fun together while being exposed to new ways to learn and enjoy books. And with the timing of the event, families can stop by on their way to or from other activities they have going on that evening.”
