Avenue City Elementary School in COSBY, Mo., was briefly placed on a soft lockdown due to reported prank phone calls involving middle school students. The calls, which had been ongoing since December, were deemed harassing but not a direct threat to students or staff. The Andrew County Sheriff’s Office lifted the lockdown after determining there was no imminent danger. Sheriff Grant Gillett urged parents to discuss appropriate phone and online behavior with their children to prevent similar incidents in the future.
