Two local high schools, Central and Lafayette, have embraced girls flag football as a new sport option for female athletes. Girls flag football is listed as an “emerging” sport in Missouri, indicating its growing popularity. While not yet fully sanctioned for state championships, 18 states in the country have already sanctioned high school girls flag football, including Kansas. Central and Lafayette will play their final game of the season against each other on May 2nd at Noyes Field.
