State officials are looking into one of the largest data breaches in U-S history.
Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance Director Angela Nelson says millions of names, addresses, social security numbers, and health care data were apparently exposed in the Conduent data breach…
“It’s kind of like a magical recipe of personal information that was accessed,” Nelson says
No word yet, how many Missourians’ information was exposed. Conduent has sent out notification letters & identity theft tips.
We’re obviously wanting to get our hands around how many Missourians were impacted and make sure that they all receive the appropriate notifications and have the opportunity to protect their information as much as possible,” Nelson explains
Conduent has sent letters, offering identity theft tips. Nelson says it’s also wise to check credit reports and health insurance benefit statements for inaccuracies.
“We could have a situation where bad actors are taking some of that information and filing fraudulent claims under those folks’ names and their identities,” Nelson says
There are reports the breach exposed the names, addresses, social security numbers, and health insurance data of 25 (M) million Americans. The breach occurred between the fall of 2024 and January of 2025.
